i have a 75i breathdmart hepa filter system My machine filter button was reading red , so i replaced the filter but it still says red. is ther a reset button?
Yes, just hold down your filter button for 5 seconds and it will reset
Do I need a pre filter if I purchase a HEPA filter?
No. The 75i filters come with a prefilter already attached. We recommend vacuuming the prefilter regularly, however, some customers prefer to change the prefilter as well. For more information about Prefilters, visit: alen.com/pages/alenprefilters
I purchased this air purifier from lowes last year. The filter came with a clear plastic covering. My husband insists that the plastic covering is supposed to stay on the filter---is this correct?
All of our filters are sealed in a clear plastic to protect them from the elements, and the plastic should be removed prior to use.
How much actual activated carbon is in the odor filters?
Our odor filters do not contain activated carbon. The 75i Odor Filter contains 1.87 lbs of Molecular Powder that will assist with biological-type odors like diapers and smelly pets. However, the 75i Fresh Filter contains 3.6 lbs of activated carbon.
Can you wash off, and/or clean in between the 12-15 months period?
We suggest vacuuming the prefilter regularly. The prefilter on the 75i is a detachable screen that looks like 6 windows. Its job is to catch the larger dust and debris from clogging your main filter. You can also purchase prefilter replacements if you have a lot of furry pets or feel that vacuuming isn't getting the job done.
