Shop Pay gives you the option to pay in full at checkout, or to pay for your order over time. When available, Shop Pay Installments is a great option to help you maximize your budget for orders between $50 USD and $20,000 USD.

Depending on your purchase amount, there are two ways that you can pay for your order in installments.

  • For orders between 50 USD to 999.99 USD, you can split your purchase into four bi-weekly, interest-free installment payments. There are no additional charges, interest rates, or late fees for this option. No impact to apply. Your payment plan and repayment activity may be reported to credit bureaus. Checking eligibility will not impact credit.
  • For orders between 150 USD to 20,000 USD, you can split your purchase into monthly installment payments. While there are no late fees for monthly installment payments, your order is subject to interest fees. No impact to apply. Your payment plan and repayment activity may be reported to credit bureaus. Checking eligibility will not impact credit.

MAKE YOUR PAYMENTS AND ENJOY

After you make your first payment at checkout, you'll be charged either biweekly or monthly, depending on the installment payment option you chose. You'll be reminded by email and SMS text (if applicable) before each payment is charged to your card. You can also turn on push notifications in the Shop app to be reminded. However, you can't customize your payment schedule.

What are the Shop Pay Installments eligibility?

To pay for an order using Shop Pay Installments, the following eligibility criteria apply:

 

You need to have a United States billing address, and be signed up for Shop Pay

Your order needs to be between 50 USD and 20,000 USD, including shipping and taxes.

If you're ordering a physical product that requires shipping, then you need to provide a United States shipping address. If you're only purchasing digital products, then a United States shipping address isn't required.

For orders split into four bi-weekly payments, you need to pay with a supported credit card or debit card.

For orders paid for in monthly installment payments, you can only pay with a supported debit card.

What is the Shop Pay Installments limitations?

The following limitations apply to Shop Pay Installments. If any of the below limitations apply to your order, then you can't use Shop Pay Installments to pay for that order:

 

* You can't pay for an order if the order includes currency in any form, including virtual and digital currency, such as gift cards.

* You can't pay for a Shop Pay Installments order using Capital One card, prepaid debit cards, or prepaid credit cards.

How can I know my purchasing power?

If you’re eligible for Shop Pay Installments, then your purchasing power and all of the available installment payment options are displayed for eligible products. Choose your installment payment option at checkout.

1. Go to the product that you want to buy.

2. Click Check your purchasing power.

3. Click Check if you qualify.

4. Sign up or log into your Shop Pay account.

5. Review the available installment payment options, and then click Continue to checkout.

6. Select your payment option, and then complete your checkout.

How can I manage the automatic payment settings?

After your first payment, Shop Pay automatically charges your method of payment for installment payments going forward, either bi-weekly, or monthly.

 

Change your automatic payment (autopay) method for an existing Shop Pay Installments order

You can change your automatic payment method on a Shop Pay Installments order while it's in repayment. However, you can't use Capital One cards or prepaid debit cards as a payment method. If you've opted into monthly payments, then you can only pay with a debit card.

Going forward, the new payment method will be used for payments on this order. If you want to update your payment method or multiple Shop Pay Installments orders, then you need to change your automatic payment method for each order.

How can I change my automatic payment method in the Shop app?

1. From the Home tab in the Shop app, tap the order that you want to change the payment method for.

2. Tap View Installments, and then tap Manage.

3. Select the new payment method that you want to use. If you need to add a new payment method, then tap Add card, and complete the required fields.

How can I change my automatic payment method on a web browser?

1. Sign into your Shop Pay account.

2. In the overflow menu in the top right corner, click Orders.

3. Select the order that you want to update your payment method for.

4. In the Automatic payments section, click Edit.

5. Select a payment method from the drop-down menu, or use a different card.

6. Click Update.

7. Click Continue.

Can I make a manual Installment payment for my order?

If you want to make an early payment, late payment, or pay off your remaining balance on an order, then you can do it manually.

 

There are no penalties for making an early installment payment. For interest-bearing loans, you can save on interest fees when you pay off the remaining balance early. However, while there are no late fees, late payments might affect your eligibility to pay for orders with Shop Pay Installments in the future.

How Can I make a manual payment in the Shop app?

1. In the Orders tab of the Shop app, tap the order you want to pay.

2. Tap View Installments, and then tap Make payment.

3. Select an option in the Make payment section.

*Note: If you type a custom amount, then it needs to be more than one dollar and less than or equal to the total remaining amount.

4. In the Card section, select the card you want to pay with.

5. Tap Pay now, and then tap Continue.

How Can I Make a manual payment on a web browser?

1. Sign in to your Shop Pay account.

2. In the overflow menu in the top right corner, click Orders.

3. Click the order that you want to pay.

4. Click Make payment.

5. Select an option in the Amount to pay section.

*Note: If you type a custom amount, then it needs to be more than one dollar and less than or equal to the total remaining amount.

6. In the Card section, use the drop-down arrow to select your preferred payment method.

7. Click Pay now.

8. Click Continue.
